INFORMATION SECURITY IN PUBLIC AUTHORITIES

Information flows and the constant development of IT technologies encourage the learning and development of one’s competencies in the field of computer literacy. The modern pace of informatization of our society requires a civil servant to be adaptable to the rapid perception and processing of large amounts of information, mastering the means, methods and technology of working with information resources. Realizing the importance of this issue, civil servants annually improve their skills.

Employees of the Northern Interregional Head Office of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection at the State Border were trained on the basis of Sumy National University under the general short-term program “Information Security in Public Authorities”. Employees of the Northern Interregional Head Office of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection at the State Border completed training on the basis of Sumy NAU under the general short-term program “Information Security in Public Authorities”.

Thanks to the materials of the lecturer of the course, the senior teacher of the Department of Cybernetics and Informatics Karen Ahadzhanov-Honsales, the students significantly increased their own level of information technology competence. In particular, during the training, they had time to discuss issues related to online and offline threats, email and phishing attacks, learnt to identify protected connections and also learnt about the features of electronic document flow in detail.

They used Zoom application for training. Effective communication was organized using chat in the messenger, as well as e-mail. A the end of the training, all trainees passed the final computer test. Based on the results of the training, all trainees who had successfully passed the test, got personal certificates of professional development.
